City Deal team connecting with communities

The partners in the Western Sydney City Deal have published their first annual report which details the important progress that has been delivered for the Western Parkland City since the Deal was signed in March 2018.

The City Deal unites the three tiers of government to deliver 38 commitments that create world-class jobs and a great quality of life in the Western Parkland City.

Initiatives have been delivered for the region including:

  • Commonwealth and NSW Government funding to the eight City Deal councils for local projects improving community facilities and amenities for people across the region.
  • Establishment of the Western Sydney Airport/TAFE NSW Skills Exchange as a pilot on the airport site to support the ongoing training of employees.
  • Attracting jobs and investment to the Aerotropolis in 2019 by securing more deals with global and local companies. There are currently 17 MOUs with various companies to deliver research and development facilities, agribusiness, aerospace and advanced manufacturing in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.
  • Establishment of the Yarpa Indigenous Business Hub and holding the first Indigenous Business Summit, with over 60 local Indigenous owners in attendance.
