Mr Roberts said Dr Hill has been central to the creation of the Commission's vision for Greater Sydney as a "metropolis of three cities" and has led an extensive and highly-regarded range of innovative planning and engagement programs, including Australia's first Place-based Infrastructure Compact.
"Sarah has been instrumental to the realisation of the Commission's 40-year vision and its position as the NSW Government's expert on metropolitan city shaping. Her economic analysis and development experience, along with her ability to collaborate and bring different levels of government together, means that Sarah is the right person to take the implementation of the Commission's plans to the next level.
"Sarah's skills are rightly being redeployed in the new Authority to accelerate the delivery of the vision for the Western Parkland City," Mr Roberts said.
Welcoming the establishment of the Western Parkland City Authority, Mr Roberts said "The Commission looks forward to working with the Authority to maximise and share the benefits of growth and infrastructure investment across the whole of the Western Parkland City".
"The Commission continues to lead the realisation of the vision of three cities for Greater Sydney. This role is even more important now as we face a significant period of economic recovery which will be underpinned by this vision.
Mr Roberts said recruitment of a new CEO was well underway, with an announcement expected soon. Dr Hill will continue in her current role to allow a smooth handover.
